Peanut mechanization sowing technology can be divided into mulch sowing and no mulch sowing. Peanut mechanization mulch sowing technology is the technology that uses the peanut mulching machine to complete ridging, fertilizing, seeding, spraying herbicide, mulching and earthing on membrane. No mulch sowing has no mulch process in the operation. In the vast northern region, peanut mulching machine operation is mostly adopted considering the low temperature of peanut sowing.

Sowing time
The suitable seeding time of peanut should be determined according to the features, natural condition and cultivation system of peanuts. The local agricultural seeding time shall be determined in accordance with the agricultural requirements. In Shandong province, for example, it is in late April and early May as a general rule. The best time for outdoor sowing peanuts and middle-late season varieties is when the ground temperature five centimeters underground stabilizes in 15-18°C, and the best sowing time for early maturity varieties is when the ground temperature five centimeters underground stabilizes in 12-15°C. For plastic film mulching cultivation, it can be 10 days in advance.

Sowing density
The double grain rate of peanut mechanical seeding should be over 85%. The qualified rate should be over 95% and the rate of empty seed should not more than 2%. Usually, the density of mid-mature large peanut should be 8000-10000 holes per mu and the density of mid-mature medium peanuts should be 9000-12000 holes per mu. The density could be smaller in soil with good fertility, vice versa.

Sowing depth
The sowing depth of peanut is commonly 3-4cm. In the plot of early sowing, low ground temperature or moisture, shallow sowing should be taken appropriately, but it should be not less than 3cm; on the contrary, it can be deepen appropriately of not more than 6cm.

Planting specifications
The following two planting ways should be used in area proposed to be sowed by peanut combine harvester.
Single ridge double row planting pattern: the ridge distance is 85-90cm, rowledge on the ridge is not more than 28 centimeters.
Single ridge single row planting pattern: the ridge distance is 53-60cm.
